ABOUT the shop
The name Dandelion Salad is inspired by Cass's childhood pastime - playing at recess making "salads" out of dandelions and whatever else she could find. The shop is her adult version of getting to put things together in the fun and creative way that she used to enjoy as a child.
More than just a retail store, Dandelion Salad serves as a creative hub, offering local artists a dedicated platform to display and sell their work. The vintage section of the shop gives customers the opportunity to choose from high-quality second hand pieces at an affordable price. Dandelion Salad also encourages customers to buy sustainably made new products that promote conscious consumerism. Every item in the shop - from handcrafted artwork to unique keepsakes - provides visitors with a meaningful way to remember their time in historic uptown Butte.
about the people
Cassie Cardiello owns and operates Dandelion Salad with help and encouragement from her sweetie Jon. She also receives and wouldn't be able to operate the shop without help from her community of family and friends.
Cass is a mixed media artist who sold her work as a full time job for several years online and at art markets. The dream and vision of Dandelion Salad was to create a space for her to create and sell her artwork in an environment full of other Montana makers, vintage, and other sustainably made goods. All of which she is passionate about supporting and making accessible to the community of Butte. She solely curates the shop and collects vintage with her friend Grace. Jon is a musician, graphic designer, and does data visualization for his 9-5. His music project is called The Pond and he co-runs a Montana record label called Anything Bagel with Cassie's brother Sandy. Blizzard is the shop dog, who is around often. She's an A+ dog who is always a good greeter and gets fed too many treats. She'd love if you come by and give her a good scratch!
